Work Of The Size Of Wales Charity

On Tuesday 5 June, Ann MacGarry came to deliver workshops with Yr4,5 & 6 pupils about the work of the Size of Wales charity. The charity works alongside communities living in the rainforests in various parts of the world. Firstly, the pupils learnt about the location of the rainforests and the habitats they provide for different creatures. Then, the pupils discussed what it’s like to be in a rainforest and why they are so essential for our eco system. Astonishingly, 1.6billion people rely on rainforests for their livelihood, however, these rainforests are under threat. Size of Wales is currently working on projects within communities in countries including Uganda and Guyana. This workshop was both interesting and informative and enabled pupils to learn what they can do to reduce global warming and protect rainforests.
